WordPress.com has now 1 Million Blogs
1 Comment Published May 24th, 2007 in Other Internet Stuff, Technology, Web 2.0WordPress.com, the blogging platform has recently passed 1 million blogs few days ago.

Take a bow from me atleast. This is something really exceptional. I think people who are not using WordPress are seriously missing something special.
On WordPress.com, you can get your own hosted blog up and running in less than 2 minutes with no technical knowledge whatsoever. You can also map your blog to your own domain if you want. On WordPress.org, the blog host’s sister site, you can download the WordPress software to host your own blog on your own domain. I am using it and it’s very intuitive, in addition to having a vibrant community offering tons of plugins and themes. Oh, and it’s free and open source.
The WordPress has also two other interesting projects.
* WordPress MU, which is free software to run multi-blog sites, such as WordPress.com.
* bbPress, a free forum program that integrates with WordPress and has the same, clean look and feel.
Open source software such as WordPress has really come of age and made a lot of exciting applications available to the public at large.

I think wordpress is really doing good and I am their huge fan. I can see them crosing many marks in the near future..
