Feed forward or you can say providing feedback has immensely changed the way corporate is moving. Bygone are the days when top executives used to play the role of giving suggestions.
Things are changing since the concept ‘Feed-Forward’ evolved. Many organizations are taking a progressive approach towards it. Providing feedback is now been considered as an essential skill for leaders. Recent studies have found that feed-forward helps one to better envision the future by solving mistakes that have occurred in the past.. Feed-forward can help improve the quality of communication in their organization, ensuring that the right message is conveyed, and that those who receive it are receptive to its content.
This practice can only be employed where we can allow skip-level meeting i.e. in one role you take the responsibility of providing ‘feed-forward’ that is, to give their supervisors suggestions for the future and in the 2nd role to take the responsibility of accepting “feed-forward†that is, to listen to the suggestions and learn as much as they can from their subordinates.
In order for ‘feed-forward’ to become successful, organizations must have a ‘listening’ management. Listening to the powerful ‘voice of the organization’ will help organizations overcome many hurdles.
Hope every organization will come up to a level where every employee will have the right to say what’s going right and wrong in their organizations.
